Back in the 1970s I had a chronic cough for 15 years. I went to many doctors and tried hypnosis. NONE, could solve the problem. A last resort was to have a surgeon cut the reflex-nerve that causes coughing, but I refused. In 1980 the cough STOPPED 3 months after I divorced my first wife who was a heavy smoker.
