Re: how to rid mites on a dogMy dogs have suffered from ear mites. After getting a diagnosis of ear mites from my vet, this is what I did: The main thing is to thoroughly clean your dog's ears to remove wax, dead skin, and dirt before treatments. Use cotton to gently put mineral oil in your dog's ears a couple of times a week. To eradicate the mites you have to continue the treatment through the entire mite life cycle and that takes up to 4 weeks, so you have to be patient and consistent.
I also gave my dogs light flea baths during the four weeks. I treated both dogs even though only one seem to be infected because the mites can travel from one dog to another. Also, a word of warning: if your dog's ears start smelling badly, contact your vet, because it could be an infection.
Re: how to rid mites on a dogRevolution has completely cleared my dog of sarcoptic mites. It's been a great relief because the scratching was just becoming unbearable for him. Give it a try!
